Women's Hockey Shines in Surge Jersey Debut

The Surge Women's Hockey team travelled to Toronto this past weekend to compete in their first tournament of the year. It was the first time the brand new Surge hockey jerseys were used and the women's team looked and played great in them.

From Coach Sam:

"First time for everyone putting on a Surge sweater, with an early morning against the host team Humber, the team held their own until near the end and fell a little short.

After a few hours break, the girls were ready to hit the ice and show OCR what they are made of. The girls hit the ice with determination and grit. Things really started to come together and players spreading across three different cities were really starting to jive. Tied 1-1 after 3 periods, a shoot out decided the match. Unfortunately, we could not put one passed their tender and lost in a shoot out.

With nothing to lose at this point the girls were really ready to Surge. They hit the ice and put their first goal on the board within the first 35 seconds of the game. After being knocked around a bit, everyone was still smiling and came back stronger every shift. The girls hit a total of 5 crossbars and posts and still managed to come out on top winning 3-0 agains Laurier Brantford."
