McArthur ready to lead the Men's Basketball program as new head coach

Kingston, Ontario – St. Lawrence College is excited to announce the hiring of new men’s basketball coach, Brock McArthur.

Brock takes the reigns after acting as assistant coach with the Surge for the past seven years. Along with his OCAA experience, he leads the Kingston Impact as head coach with experience in their U16, U17, U19 and High Performance programs.

Being a part of the basketball program the last seven years has been an exciting journey that has allowed me to take great strides in my development as a coach. I take pride in every aspect that has come along with the job – identifying and recruiting talent, creating scouting reports, running film sessions, and building relationships with the players” said Brock McArthur on the opportunity to lead the Surge team.

A graduate of St. Lawrence College’s Police Foundations program in 2014, Brock is well known and respected amongst his players and peers at the college.

We are thrilled to have Brock lead our men's basketball program as the new head coach. Having years of experience at the OCAA level, we are confident in Brock's basketball knowledge and ability to lead our student-athletes into building a contending program in the OCAA." said Manager of Athletics and Engagement, Kevin Biggs.

"Coaching has changed significantly over the years, and we are looking forward to Brock bringing a level of positive accountability that will foster development and maturity amongst our student-athletes, leading to a championship culture.

Brock begins his head coaching tenure with the Surge this week and will be hosting a men’s basketball recruitment camp on Sunday, April 28 from 2-5pm at St. Lawrence College, Kingston campus.
