Jacob Ball and Mel Gilligan lead the league after week one of Varsity Soccer play

SATURDAY vs SAULT

Melissa Gilligan was at it again in the season opener with 4 goals to her name as both the women’s and men’s Surge soccer teams finished with clean sweeps over the Cougars on Saturday. The women won 4-0 while the men tallied 5 in their victory. Highly touted rookie, Jacob Ball, scored two for the men’s side. Rounding out the goals were Tim Balfour, Mohammed Barakat, and Alex Everick.

SUNDAY vs CAMBRIAN 

Men’s soccer is surging after another offence-heavy effort in a 6-1 win over Cambrian on Sunday. Jacob Ball marked his second multi-goal performance in as many nights, scoring three for SLC. Tim Balfour, Justin Benoit, and Dan Fallon scored the others.

The women’s side weren’t as lucky against the Shield, falling 4-1 to wrap up the Northern Ontario swing trip. Mel Gilligan scored her league-leading 5th goal in the effort.
